Belmont Park is on Mission Beach, San Diego
The Park features an indoor plunge and some old-fashioned amusement rides.
The Big Dipper roller coaster was built in 1925, and is now a California Historical Monument.
While attending SDSU in 1974, Derrick & Stephanie used
to ride the coaster when it cost just 50¢
The coaster lay dormant from '76 until '90, when it was refurbished on the
identical tracks.
The coaster's maximum rise is 74 feet, and although small, is reknowned for its turbulent twists and unexpected g-forces.
