•ran on law & order platform yet defied California Supreme Court on school busing
•led revocation of CA mental health laws, forcing thousands of ill out of hospitals & onto the streets, fostering a crime increase & amplifying the suffering of the delusional. Dismantling the mental health system makes it impossible to anticipate such criminals such as (ironically) John Hinckley Jr. or Jared Loughner.
•preached fiscal restraint, yet the US national debt mushroomed 280% during his tenure from $900 billion to $2.6 trillion, still the greatest increase in U.S. history
•promoted the crack-pipe dream Star Wars missile shield, the Strategic Defense Initiative that cost billions in R&D alone, not the "small government" he espoused
•his son Ron Jr. admits his father suffered clear signs of dementia-Azlheimers during Reagan's second Presidential term
•presided over the Iran-Contra scandal, with numerous staff becoming convicted felons
•his Presidency was the "absolute triumph of image over reality, of flash over substance, of the pervasive need within most Americans to believe in a happy-face version of the nation..."
•Reagan is the "undisputed heavyweight champion of salesmen," all show & no go, form & style over content, a muddle of self-contradicting hypocrisy.
•his administration enabled the deregulation of mainstream media by annihilating the Fairness Doctrine; this allowed mega-corporations to become journalism sources; now defense manufacturers can report on wars to justify them, and can slant ecology news to encourage the dismissal of environmental concerns -- all to cut costs
•as Governor he generated the myth of the "welfare queen," a racist sterotype claiming that Afros promiscuously reproduced, then collected public benefits they picked up in Cadillacs; his lack of vision and racist regression assured that the urban poor were left to rot & yielded the crack cocaine generation
•further racist policies: supported South Africa which held apartheid was the proper way to run a civilized society: a tiny, elite, white majority ruling & being served by an impoverished 90% majority
•Reaganites regarded AIDS as "gay cancer"; thus no leadership to assure research funding towards treatment & cure because the sufferers were viewed as deserving the disease as punishment for sins, despite heterosexuals comprising the majority of HIV infections

•Reagan's staff consists of the most disgraceful roll call in the history of the U.S. Presidency: Oliver North, John Poindexter, Richard Secord, Casper Weinberger, Elliott Abrams, Robert C.
